Updated for Town Hall 18 (October 2026).

The Airship is the balloon craft in the lower corner of your Home Village that flies you to the Clan Capital, the shared base your whole clan builds together. It appears once your Town Hall reaches level 6 and you are in a clan of level 2 or higher. Tap it, and you are in the Capital. It does for the Capital what the Boat does for the Builder Base.

What the Airship looks like and where it is

The Airship is a balloon-lifted craft parked at the bottom corner of your village next to the Forge. If you do not meet the requirements yet, you see a grey balloon with a box hanging beneath it in the same spot. It cannot be moved or upgraded, and like the Forge it is hidden from anyone who visits or scouts your base, so it never affects a defense.

Its look changes with your village scenery. Most sceneries released since the Clan Capital launch come with their own Airship design, from the Pixel and Jolly sceneries to recent ones such as Anime Fury.

How to unlock the Airship

  1. Upgrade your Town Hall to level 6.
  2. Join a clan that is level 2 or higher (or help your own clan reach level 2).

The same two conditions open the Forge, so both buildings switch on together. If you leave your clan or join a level 1 clan, the Airship goes back to its grey, grounded state.

What you can do after you fly up

  • Spend Capital Gold. Every ruin, building and upgrade in the Capital is paid for with Capital Gold, and it finishes instantly once the full amount is in. You make Capital Gold in the Forge and earn it in raids.
  • Visit the districts. The Capital has nine areas: Capital Peak, where the Capital Hall stands, plus eight districts unlocked as the Capital Hall levels up. The newest is Goblin Mines at Capital Hall 9.
  • Join Raid Weekends. From Friday to Monday your clan attacks other Capitals, and damage carries over between clanmates’ attacks. Raids pay Capital Gold and Raid Medals.
  • Use Raid Medals at the Trader, or to fill your own Clan Castle with units at its max level.
  • Contribute to the Capital Treasury once your clan’s Capital is fully maxed (added June 2026).

Leaders and Co-Leaders can also set district layouts and mark up to three priority upgrades per district for members to fund.

Recent changes to the Capital trip

  • May 2, 2022: the Airship and Forge arrive with the Clan Capital update.
  • October 9, 2023: Goblin Mines becomes the newest district.
  • June 15, 2026: the Capital Treasury gives maxed clans a use for spare Capital Gold, and late joiners lose the ability to raid. A player cannot join a Raid Weekend if all of these are true: they joined after it began, have not attacked for the clan yet, are not an Elder or higher, and the clan is open to anyone.
  • June 15, 2026: a 4x Fast Forward button arrives for battles, including some Clan Capital battles.

Airship FAQ

Why don’t I have an Airship in Clash of Clans?

You either have not reached Town Hall 6 or your clan is below level 2. Until both are true, you only see a grey balloon.

What does the Airship look like?

A balloon-lifted craft in the lower corner of your village, next to the Forge; before you unlock it, a grey balloon with a box under it. Its design changes with your scenery.

Can attackers see or destroy the Airship?

No. It is hidden from visitors and raiders and plays no part in battles.
