Summary

The Hidden Tesla serves as a unique defensive structure with a concealed presence, similar to Spring Traps or Bombs. It emerges when ground or air units approach or when 51% of the base is demolished. Unlike traps, the Hidden Tesla does not require rearming after activation. Unlocked at Town Hall level 7, Hidden Teslas remain invisible to all except the player and their clanmates. With a seven-tile range and a six-tile trigger radius, Hidden Teslas will reveal themselves only when troops come near or the enemy destroys at least 51% of the base. Although they may resemble traps in appearance and functionality, Hidden Teslas are defensive structures like Archer Towers. Troops can spawn on top of a Hidden Tesla if it is situated within a 3×3 (or larger) area devoid of buildings or walls. Deploying a troop in the spawn hole will prompt the Hidden Tesla to appear and begin its assault.

Clash of Clans Hidden Tesla Level 7
  • The Hidden Tesla is a defensive building with a twist: Similar to a Spring Trap or Bomb, it stays hidden and appears when a ground or air unit gets close, or when 51% of the base is destroyed. However, unlike a Trap, it does not have to be rearmed after being deployed.
  • The Hidden Tesla is unlocked at Town Hall level 7.
  • Like Traps, Hidden Teslas are only visible to the player and their clanmates.
  • A Hidden Tesla has a seven tile range but a six tile trigger radius in which it will only pop up if a troop comes near it or the enemy has destroyed at least 51% of the base.
  • Hidden Teslas are not traps. Their aesthetics and mechanics trick some into believing that they are traps, but they’re actually defensive buildings like Archer Towers.

Strategies

Defensive Strategy

The element of surprise is the Hidden Tesla’s primary advantage. To maximize its potential, ensure strategic placement to disrupt enemy attacks. Avoid making the location of Hidden Teslas too obvious by incorporating multiple possible locations in your village design. Creating “dummy” 2×2 open spaces can help deceive opponents and increase the likelihood of surprise.

Exercise caution when upgrading the Hidden Tesla, as it will expose its location to future assailants. Consider relocating it during the upgrade period. Despite being visible during upgrades, Hidden Teslas maintain their inability to generate no-spawn zones. Place Hidden Teslas in spaces where troops cannot be deployed (no larger than 2×2) to ensure optimal performance.

One effective tactic involves placing Hidden Teslas near an exposed Town Hall to deceive enemies and force them to expend more troops. Another popular strategy, called a Tesla Farm, groups three or four Hidden Teslas together with traps in between, either in the core of the base or near trash buildings. This concentrated power can disrupt enemy plans by forcing them to use spells prematurely.

A riskier strategy, known as Troll Teslas, involves placing Hidden Teslas in the corners of your base without Builder’s Huts. While this reduces their overall defensive capabilities, it can hinder the enemy’s ability to achieve a three-star raid. This strategy is less effective at higher Town Hall levels (TH10 or higher) due to larger bases and increased corner occupancy.

Offensive Strategy

Before launching an attack, scout for potential Hidden Tesla locations and steer clear of them. If a Hidden Tesla is triggered, keep in mind its limited range and avoid deploying more troops nearby. Look for 2×2 empty square spaces encircled by walls, as they often indicate the presence of a Hidden Tesla, but only for Town Hall level 7 or higher.

A single Giant and several Archers can efficiently eliminate a Hidden Tesla due to its relatively low health. Beware of deceptive spawn points inside walls, as they may house Hidden Teslas. If you can observe a village before an attack, watch for Villagers clapping near “empty” spots, as this may reveal Hidden Tesla locations. Large areas with 2×2, 2×3, or 2×4 spots on the base’s exterior may indicate a Tesla Farm. In this case, use a minor troop to trigger it or launch an aerial attack.
