Updated for Town Hall 18 (October 2026).
The Wall Wrecker is the first Siege Machine, available as soon as you build the Workshop at Town Hall 12. It drives in a straight push toward the Town Hall, smashing walls in its way for 10 times its normal damage, and releases your Clan Castle troops when it breaks down. Its max level is 6, added for Town Hall 18.
How the Wall Wrecker works
Once deployed, it heads for the Town Hall and rams anything blocking it. Each hit deals splash damage around the impact point, and walls take ten times that damage, so a single ram usually clears a whole stretch of wall. It moves at speed 12 and swings every 1.3 seconds, and it takes 1 space in your siege slot.
Like every Siege Machine, it releases the Clan Castle troops loaded inside when it is destroyed, when it reaches its goal, or when you tap its icon again to break it open early. You can bring it with no Clan Castle troops at all; it just spawns nothing at the end.
Your own spells don’t affect it and Healers can’t heal it. Since April 2026, Siege Machines are also immune to the Grand Warden’s Life Gem, the Apprentice Warden‘s aura and the death poison of Town Halls 14 to 16. They do now take damage from Firemite fires.

Hits needed to break a wall
Worked out from the damage above and each wall level’s hitpoints (current stats, including the January 2026 buff):

|---|---|---|---|
| 1 to 11 | 1 hit | 1 hit | 1 hit |
| 12 | 2 | 1 | 1 |

How to use the Wall Wrecker
- Check the path first. It goes for the Town Hall no matter what, so it is only useful when the Town Hall sits in or near the area you want to open. On bases with an off-center Town Hall, the route can be very different from what you expect.
- Use it as the wall-breaking part of a ground push, in place of Golems plus Wall Breakers. Its hitpoints let it tank while it opens the path for the troops behind it.
- Pick ground troops for the cargo. Bowlers released in the core can wreck it, though they are fragile, so send a tank ahead so the Wrecker survives long enough to get them deep. Air troops are a risky load: the Wrecker never triggers air traps, so Balloons or Dragons inside land on untouched Seeking Air Mines and Air Bombs.
- Raged Balloons are the exception some players still use, with a Freeze Spell on the nearby defenses. If traps are cleared, they can snipe the Town Hall.
- The Grand Warden’s Eternal Tome still covers the Wrecker, which helps it survive a heavily defended stretch.
At higher Town Halls the Siege Barracks, Log Launcher and other later machines often do more for an attack. The Log Launcher’s long reach can trigger the Town Hall weapon early, though, so the Wall Wrecker still has a place when you want a controlled push.
How to defend against the Wall Wrecker
- Place high-damage defenses, ideally single-target Inferno Towers, where Wall Wreckers are likely to be deployed, so they destroy it before it reaches your walls and catch the troops it drops.
- An off-center Town Hall misleads the Wall Wrecker and every other Siege Machine that targets it.
- Strong Clan Castle defenders can chew through its hitpoints on the way in.
