Updated for Town Hall 18 (October 2026).
The Yeti is a tough melee troop who carries a basket of small Yetimites and throws them into the fight as he takes damage. How Yetimites work
A Yeti enters the battle carrying a set number of Yetimites, from 8 at level 1 up to 14 at level 8. For every 600 damage he takes, one Yetimite jumps out and joins the attack. Since October 2024 a big hit releases several at once (an 1,800-damage hit frees three), where before it released only one. When the Yeti dies, every Yetimite still in his basket comes out together, and since October 2025 they land in an even circle around him.
That design rewards the attacker for letting the Yeti tank. The more damage he soaks, the more extra troops are on the field. His own damage is solid but not huge, so most of a Yeti attack’s punch comes from the Yeti and his Yetimites together.
Yeti levels, DPS and hitpoints
Yetis are upgraded in the Laboratory with Elixir. Costs and times are base values before Gold Pass or event discounts. The Town Hall column is the lowest Town Hall whose Laboratory can research that level.
| Level | DPS | Hitpoints | Yetimites carried | Research cost (Elixir) | Research time | Laboratory level | Town Hall |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 230 | 2,900 | 8 | None | None | None | 12 |
| 2 | 250 | 3,200 | 9 | 5,000,000 | 3d | 10 | 12 |
| 3 | 270 | 3,500 | 10 | 6,500,000 | 4d 12h | 11 | 13 |
| 4 | 290 | 3,700 | 11 | 10,000,000 | 7d | 12 | 14 |
| 5 | 310 | 3,900 | 12 | 12,000,000 | 7d 12h | 13 | 15 |
| 6 | 330 | 4,100 | 13 | 14,500,000 | 8d 6h | 14 | 16 |
| 7 | 350 | 4,300 | 13 | 17,000,000 | 10d | 15 | 17 |
| 8 | 380 | 4,650 | 14 | 27,500,000 | 15d 12h | 16 | 18 |
Levels 6 and 7 both carry 13 Yetimites, so the level 7 upgrade only adds stats. Level 7’s research dropped from 15 days and 22,500,000 Elixir to 10 days and 17,000,000 with the Town Hall 18 update.
Best uses for Yetis in 2026
At Town Halls 12 and 13, Yeti smash is a common war army: a wave of Yetis with Healers behind them, opened with a funnel, then pushed through the core with Rage and Freeze Spells. Healers suit Yetis well because a Yeti that keeps taking damage without dying keeps releasing Yetimites.
From Town Hall 15 to 18, the Super Yeti is one of the most-used troops at the top. Two of the most common war armies of 2026 are built around it:
- Super Yeti with a Royal Champion charge: the Royal Champion clears one side, then a wave of Super Yetis follows into the core.
- Root Rider smash: Root Riders lead while Super Yetis, a couple of Giants and support troops like Witches and Healers push behind them, with Rage, Freeze, Earthquake and Clone Spells.
Super Yetis also go into the Battle Blimp as Clan Castle troops, dropped straight onto the core with a Rage or Clone Spell.
How to defend against Yetis
The Air Defenses matter more than you might expect, because Yeti attacks lean on Healers. Keep them out of the Yeti’s likely path so the Healers die early. The Eagle Artillery and the Scattershot both hit Yetis and their Yetimites hard; place them away from easy entry points and cover their blind spots. A Yeti attack that is split into two groups releases fewer Yetimites in any one place and loses the Healers’ support, so a layout that pulls the pack apart weakens it.
In the Clan Castle, the Yeti is a weak defender: his Yetimites have little health and fall to one Poison Spell, and he can’t hit air troops.
Super Yeti
You can boost Yetis into Super Yetis once they reach level 3 and your Town Hall is 11 or higher, for 25,000 Dark Elixir or a Super Potion at the Super Troop building. The boost lasts 3 days and uses one of two Super Troop slots. A Super Yeti takes 35 housing space and carries Electromites instead of Yetimites: the first comes out after 400 damage, then one every 800 damage. Electromites go after any building and zap it with chain lightning, so spacing buildings two tiles apart limits them. At level 8 the Super Yeti has 550 DPS, 7,400 hitpoints and 14 Electromites. He became a regular Super Troop on May 12, 2025, after briefly appearing by mistake in March 2025.
