Updated for Town Hall 18 (October 2026).
Balloon Lagoon is the third district of the Clan Capital, unlocked at Capital Hall 4. It gives your clan its air raiders (Rocket Balloons, Skeleton Barrels and the Flying Fortress) plus the Lightning Spell, and a large share of its map is open water. The District Hall goes to level 5 at Capital Hall 10.
What Balloon Lagoon unlocks
| Unit | Housing space | Opens at | What it does |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rocket Balloons (squad of 2) | 15 | District Hall 1 | Target defenses with splash bombs; a rocket boost speeds them up for the first 4 seconds |
| Skeleton Barrels (squad of 3) | 15 | District Hall 1 | Fly to defenses and burst into Skeletons |
| Flying Fortress | 100 | District Hall 2 | Huge air tank that targets defenses and drops Skeleton Gliders as it takes damage |
| Lightning Spell | 1 | District Hall 2 | Instant strike that damages, briefly stuns and forces a retarget |
Lightning is the one Capital spell that does not linger into the next attack. Everything else in the table is trained in its own building, and the building’s level is the unit’s level for every raider in your clan.
Balloon Lagoon has about 600 tiles of water, far more than any of the original districts, but only four cliffs and three small bridges. Ground troops have very few paths, which is why the district leans on air troops for offense and why its defenses are tough on air.

Sixteen Cannons at max is the most of any district, but Cannons, Crushers and Multi Cannons only hit ground troops. The air threat comes from four Rapid Rockets from day one, the Spear Throwers, Air Bombs and, later, four Rocket Artillery.
How to attack Balloon Lagoon in Raid Weekends
- Ground troops have a hard time here. Skeletons dropped over open water only reappear if there is land within 2 tiles, so Skeleton Barrels shot down over the lagoon can waste their whole payload.
- Take out Rapid Rockets before committing Rocket Balloons. From level 2, a Rapid Rockets burst kills a Rocket Balloon of the same or lower level. Sneaky Archers can snipe exposed ones, or a Flying Fortress can draw their fire while the Balloons rush in.
- A Frost Spell (from Builder’s Workshop) freezes water so ground troops can walk and even be deployed on it, which opens new lanes in this district more than anywhere else.
- Save Lightning for packed defenses or Inferno Towers. A single bolt hits everything within its small radius, so two defenses placed close together can both take damage.
- Crushers hit hard but only at short range and only on the ground, so ranged troops and air units can take them down without being hit.
Base-building tips for Balloon Lagoon
- Put high-value defenses on islands or behind water. Ground troops then need jumps or a Frost Spell to reach them.
- Place Rapid Rockets in front of an Air Defense so both fire at the same air unit; Rapid Rockets have the shorter range.
- Leave at least three tiles between your main anti-air defenses so one Lightning Spell cannot hit two of them.
- Aim Log Traps along the three bridges, the only fixed ground routes across the water.
- Keep the two Bomb Towers near your Rapid Rockets. Skeleton Barrels and the Flying Fortress’s Skeletons swarm anti-air defenses from the ground, and Rapid Rockets cannot shoot back at them.
Balloon Lagoon FAQ
When does the Flying Fortress unlock?
At Balloon Lagoon District Hall 2, which needs Capital Hall 5.
Why are there no Zap Traps in Balloon Lagoon?
The district’s traps are Mines, Mega Mines and Log Traps only. Zap Traps arrive at Capital Hall 5, in Builder’s Workshop and Capital Peak.
Does maxing Balloon Lagoon do anything for the Treasury?
Only indirectly. The Capital Treasury added in June 2026 opens once the entire Capital is maxed, so every district counts. Keep your Capital Gold coming from raids and the Forge until then.
Previous district in unlock order: Wizard Valley. Next: Builder’s Workshop (Capital Hall 5). See the Clan Capital guide for the full mode and Capital Peak for Capital Hall levels.
