Best TH12 Attack Strategies (2026)

By October 1st, 2026No Comments

Updated for Town Hall 18 (October 2026).

The best Town Hall 12 attacks in 2026 are Zap Dragons, Super Witches with the Grand Warden’s Fireball, Queen Charge Hybrid and Sui Lalo. All four are named in TH12 attack guides and creator videos published between January and September 2026, and each one is laid out below with a full army, the matchups it suits, a step-by-step plan and the mistakes that usually cost the third star.

What you are working with at Town Hall 12

Every army on this page is built to the limits of a maxed TH12 account, so check yours against them before copying anything:

  • 280 housing space in four Army Camps.
  • 11 spell spaces. Most spells take 1 space; Healing, Rage, Jump and Overgrowth take 2, and Clone takes 3.
  • A level 8 Clan Castle with room for 40 troop spaces, 2 spells and 1 Siege Machine.
  • Three hero slots in the Hero Hall, so one of the King, Queen, Warden and Minion Prince sits out each attack.
  • Your own Workshop with the Wall Wrecker, Battle Blimp and Stone Slammer. Anything newer, such as the Siege Barracks or Log Launcher, has to come from a clanmate.
  • No pets yet. The Pet House arrives at TH14.

Training has been free and instant since March 24, 2025, so you can switch between these armies between attacks at no cost. The Town Hall 12 guide has the full list of max levels.

TH12 armies at a glance

Army Type Best against Difficulty
Zap Dragons Air Box bases with Air Defenses near the edge Easy
Super Witch Fireball Ground smash Compact bases with a strong core Medium
Queen Charge Hybrid Ground, Hogs and Miners Diamond and box bases with the Town Hall off-center Medium
Sui Lalo Air, Lava Hound and Balloon Bases where one corner holds the Eagle Artillery or an Inferno Hard

1. Zap Dragons

Zap Dragons removes Air Defenses with spells before a single Dragon lands, then sends a wall of Dragons through the gap. It doesn’t need Epic equipment, which is why it is the usual first recommendation for a new TH12.

Army composition

Slot What to bring
Troops (280) 10 Dragons, 9 Balloons, 2 Baby Dragons, 1 Super Wall Breaker, 1 Wizard, 3 Archers
Spells (11) 4 Lightning, 2 Earthquake, 2 Rage, 1 Freeze
Siege Battle Blimp
Clan Castle Poison Spell for the defending troops, plus air support troops
Heroes Archer Queen (Giant Arrow, Healer Puppet), Grand Warden in air mode (Eternal Tome, Rage Gem), and the Barbarian King or Minion Prince (Henchmen Puppet, Dark Orb)

A popular variant runs 6 Lightning, 3 Earthquake and a single Rage with a Stone Slammer. It drops the Freeze and one Rage to reach a third Air Defense.

When to use it

Use it in war and Clan War Leagues against box-shaped bases where two Air Defenses sit within reach of the edge. Its close relative, Mass Dragons, also shows up on 2026 lists of TH12 Ranked armies.

How to attack

  1. Fire the Queen’s Giant Arrow at an Air Sweeper and an Air Defense in the same line. Sweepers push Dragons back, so removing one early saves a lot of time.
  2. Zap two Air Defenses with 2 Lightning and 1 Earthquake each. If the Air Defenses are badly placed, spend 4 Lightning and 1 Earthquake on a Multi-mode Inferno Tower instead.
  3. Build the funnel. Send the King down one side if the outside is crowded with buildings; otherwise a Baby Dragon and the Minion Prince clear the edges.
  4. Drop the Dragons close together in a line between the funnels, with the Battle Blimp right behind them so it reaches the core under their cover.
  5. Release the Balloons behind the Dragons and use the Warden’s Eternal Tome early, as the Balloons start taking hits, so it covers them through the first Eagle Artillery shots.
  6. Rage and Freeze the Town Hall area when the Dragons reach it. The Giga Tesla wakes up once the Town Hall is hit, so the core fight is where the spells pay off.
  7. Poison the Clan Castle troops when they bunch up, and save the Queen for the back-end defenses.

Common mistakes

  • Spreading the Dragons too wide. They drift around the base instead of through it and the Blimp lands alone.
  • Zapping an Air Defense with too few spells to finish it. A half-dead Air Defense is still a full-strength one.
  • Holding the Eternal Tome until the Dragons are already low.

2. Super Witch Fireball

This is a slow, heavy ground push. The Grand Warden’s Fireball, an Epic piece of equipment, blows open a compartment at the start, and Super Witches then walk through the core while their Big Boys absorb the damage.

Army composition

Slot What to bring
Troops (280) 3 Super Witches, 5 Healers, 3 Super Wall Breakers, 3 Balloons, 1 Baby Dragon, 1 Headhunter, 1 Ice Golem, 1 Valkyrie, 2 Wizards, 4 Archers
Spells (11) 2 Earthquake, 2 Rage, 1 Jump, 1 Invisibility, 2 Freeze
Siege Siege Barracks from a clanmate, or your own Wall Wrecker
Clan Castle Siege Barracks with ground support troops
Heroes Barbarian King (Spiky Ball, Earthquake Boots), Archer Queen (Invisibility Vial, Healer Puppet), Grand Warden (Fireball, Rage Gem)

No Fireball yet? Give the Warden the Eternal Tome and change the spells to 5 Lightning, 1 Earthquake, 1 Rage, 1 Jump and 1 Freeze. The 5 Lightning and the Earthquake take out a Multi-Inferno in place of the Fireball’s opening hit.

When to use it

Pick it for compact war bases where the defenses are stacked in the middle. A near-identical Super Witch Smash army also appears on 2026 lists of TH12 Ranked picks.

How to attack

  1. Aim the Fireball at the enemy Clan Castle. If the Castle is out of reach, hit a cluster such as the Eagle Artillery with a defense beside it.
  2. Follow with the two Earthquakes to finish the buildings the Fireball left damaged.
  3. Deploy the Super Witches with the Healers and pull the Warden over to the main group.
  4. Use the Siege Barracks or Wall Wrecker to push into the base alongside them.
  5. Hold the King back. Let the Big Boys take the first hits, then send him in and use his ability when he starts to fall.
  6. Drop the Jump Spell late, when the Witches are at the inner Walls, so the group stays together through the core.

Common mistakes

  • A loose funnel. Super Witches are slow, and time is the usual way this attack fails.
  • Jumping too early, which splits the army before it reaches the core.
  • Using the Fireball on a lone defense instead of a group.

3. Queen Charge Hybrid

The Archer Queen and a pack of Healers clear one section of the base, then Hog Riders and Miners sweep through the rest. Both troops ignore Walls, so the hard work is shaping the path.

Army composition

Slot What to bring
Troops (280) 15 Miners, 8 Hog Riders, 4 Healers, 5 Wizards, 3 Super Wall Breakers, 3 Balloons, 2 Baby Dragons, 2 Headhunters, 2 Archers, 1 Goblin
Spells (11) 2 Rage, 2 Healing, 2 Freeze, 1 Poison
Siege Siege Barracks (requested), Wall Wrecker as a backup
Clan Castle 8 Hog Riders, Siege Barracks and a Rage Spell
Heroes Barbarian King (Rage Vial, Earthquake Boots), Archer Queen (Invisibility Vial, Archer Puppet), Grand Warden (Life Gem, Eternal Tome)

When to use it

Use it in war against diamond or box bases where the Town Hall sits near an edge, so the Queen can reach it. Single-target Infernos are the main threat to the Queen, so keep a Freeze ready for them.

How to attack

  1. Pick an entry that lets the Queen walk into the Town Hall or a single Inferno. Drop her with the Healers behind her.
  2. Deal with the Clan Castle troops before the hybrid goes in. If a defending Minion Prince comes out, a Headhunter takes care of him.
  3. Use Rage on the Queen only when she is under real pressure. TH12 defenses are lighter than at later Town Halls, so you can often save it.
  4. Send the King and the Siege Barracks along the opposite edge to finish the funnel.
  5. Deploy the Miners and Hog Riders in a line so they enter the base together.
  6. Cast the first Heal as they hit the first dangerous section, then use the Warden’s ability, then the second Heal. That order covers the longest stretch.
  7. Keep a Freeze for the Eagle Artillery or an Inferno near the end of the path.

Common mistakes

  • Starting the hybrid while Clan Castle troops are still alive. Miners and Hogs walk straight past them and take damage the whole way.
  • Dropping all the Hogs and Miners in one spot, which pulls the army apart at the first junction.
  • Worrying when the Healers leave the Queen for the hybrid. That is fine: Healers on Miners and Hogs carry the back half of the attack.

4. Sui Lalo

“Sui” is short for suicide: a group of tanks and heroes goes in first to take out one corner of the base, ideally including the Eagle Artillery, an Inferno and some Air Defenses. Lava Hounds and Balloons then follow an L-shaped path around what is left.

Army composition

Slot What to bring
Troops (280) 20 Balloons, 2 Lava Hounds, 10 Minions, 1 Golem, 1 Ice Golem, 3 Headhunters, 3 Wizards, 1 Baby Dragon, 1 Super Wall Breaker, 1 Miner, 1 Archer
Spells (11) 4 Haste, 2 Freeze, 1 Rage, 1 Skeleton, 1 Invisibility, 1 Poison
Siege Log Launcher from a clanmate
Clan Castle 2 Yetis, 2 Wall Breakers and the Log Launcher; ask for Totem Spells if a high-level clanmate can donate them
Heroes Barbarian King (Earthquake Boots, Spiky Ball), Archer Queen (Action Figure, Magic Mirror), Grand Warden (Eternal Tome, Rage Gem)

When to use it

Sui Lalo works in war, Clan War Leagues and Ranked, but it is the hardest army on this page. Choose it when one corner of the base holds most of the high-value defenses, so a single sui can reach them.

How to attack

  1. Pick the corner. Picture the base as a square and plan to remove one full corner, which leaves the Lalo an L-shaped route around the remaining two sides.
  2. Send the Golem and Ice Golem first so they soak damage for the Queen.
  3. Bring in the Log Launcher early to break the Walls toward the core.
  4. Let the Yetis and heroes take out the Eagle Artillery first, then at least one Inferno and the nearby Air Defenses. A defending Queen is a bonus.
  5. Cover the heroes with the Skeleton Spell and any donated Totems when a single-target Inferno locks on.
  6. Once the sui has its value, release the Lava Hounds and Balloons in a tight group along the L, with Haste to keep the Balloons moving together and Freeze for the back-end splash defenses.
  7. Time the Warden’s Eternal Tome for the moment the Balloons reach the Town Hall.

Common mistakes

  • A shallow sui that never reaches the Eagle Artillery or an Inferno. The Lalo can’t make up for it.
  • Leaving outer defenses standing on the Balloon path, which makes the Balloons bounce in and out of the base.
  • Deploying the Lalo spread out instead of compact. On awkward layouts, pick clockwise or counter-clockwise and commit.

Other TH12 armies worth knowing

Zap Witches (12 Witches with 3 Golems, 8 Lightning, 2 Earthquake and a Poison) is still a strong choice against spread-out bases with several Infernos. Lightning and Earthquake remove a Multi-Inferno, then Witches and Golems push in from the side with the King and a Wall Wrecker.

For Ranked specifically, a March 2026 Ranked guide for TH12 picked Mass Dragons, Icy Witch Bat, Mass Super Barbarians, Super Archer Smash and Super Witch Smash. In Ranked you can’t skip a base and every attack counts, so choose the army you execute most reliably over the one with the highest ceiling.

Choosing an army for war, Ranked and farming

  • War and Clan War Leagues: scout first, then pick. Zap Dragons for edge Air Defenses, Super Witch Fireball for a stacked core, Queen Charge Hybrid when the Queen can reach the Town Hall, and Sui Lalo when one corner is loaded.
  • Ranked Battles: bring the army you execute most cleanly. Mass Dragons and Super Witch Smash both made a March 2026 TH12 Ranked list.
  • Farming in regular Battles: you can skip bases and nothing is at stake, so it is a good place to practice a harder army like Sui Lalo before using it in war.

TH12 attack strategy FAQ

What is the best TH12 attack strategy in 2026?

Zap Dragons is the most common pick because it is easy to execute and doesn’t depend on Epic equipment. Super Witch Fireball is stronger if you own and have leveled the Fireball.

What is the best TH12 war army?

It depends on the base. Use Queen Charge Hybrid when the Town Hall is near an edge, Zap Dragons when two Air Defenses are reachable, and Super Witch Fireball against compact bases.

How many spells can you bring at TH12?

11 spell spaces in your own army, plus 2 spells in the Clan Castle.

Can I use the Siege Barracks or Log Launcher at TH12?

Yes, but only from your Clan Castle. Your own Workshop builds the Wall Wrecker, Battle Blimp and Stone Slammer at TH12.
