Siege Machines

By October 1st, 2026No Comments

Updated for Town Hall 18 (October 2026).

Siege Machines are the vehicles that carry your Clan Castle troops into battle. There are 9 of them, built in the Workshop from Town Hall 12, and you can bring one per attack. The newest is the Sky Wagon (April 2026), which unlocks with the level 9 Workshop at Town Hall 17.

How Siege Machines work

A Siege Machine goes into battle with your Clan Castle troops loaded inside. Each one has its own way of getting there: some drive at the Town Hall, some fly, some target defenses, and some stay put and pump out troops. When the machine is destroyed, runs out of time, or you tap its release button, it drops whatever Clan Castle troops are still inside on that spot.

A few rules apply to all nine:

  • Only one Siege Machine can be deployed per battle, even if your Workshop holds more.
  • Building them in the Workshop is free and instant. Upgrades happen in the Laboratory with Elixir.
  • They work with an empty Clan Castle. You just lose the payload at the end.
  • Your own spells don’t affect them, so a Healing or Rage Spell does nothing. The Grand Warden‘s Eternal Tome still protects them.
  • Since April 2026 they are immune to the Town Hall 14-16 poison, Life Gem effects and the Apprentice Warden’s aura, and they now take damage from Firemite fires. The Angry Spell (June 2026) doesn’t affect them either.
  • Clan mates can donate a Siege Machine to any Clan Castle of level 6 or higher. The receiver’s Clan Castle level caps both which machines it can take and what level arrives.

All 9 Siege Machines

Siege Machine Workshop level Town Hall to build Clan Castle to receive (Town Hall) Max level What it does
Wall Wrecker 1 12 6 (TH10) 6 Ground ram that drives at the Town Hall, smashing Walls on the way
Battle Blimp 2 12 6 (TH10) 6 Flies straight to the Town Hall, bombing whatever is underneath
Stone Slammer 3 12 6 (TH10) 6 Flying defense-hunter with heavy splash that also wrecks Walls
Siege Barracks 4 13 7 (TH11) 6 Parachutes in and spawns P.E.K.K.As and Wizards until its timer runs out
Log Launcher 5 13 7 (TH11) 6 Rolls logs ahead that crush Walls and buildings in a line
Flame Flinger 6 14 8 (TH12) 5 Long-range catapult that sets defenses on fire from outside their reach
Battle Drill 7 15 9 (TH13) 6 Tunnels under Walls to defenses and stuns them when it surfaces
Troop Launcher 8 16 10 (TH14) 4 Stays where you place it and fires barrels of troops to support your army
Sky Wagon 9 17 11 (TH15) 4 Flying launcher that targets defenses and drops barrels of air troops

Workshop levels 1-3 are all available at Town Hall 12, so a new Town Hall 12 can unlock the first three machines in a row. After that each Town Hall adds one or two.

Each Siege Machine in short

Wall Wrecker

A heavily armored ram that drives along the ground toward the Town Hall and breaks any Wall it meets. It suits ground armies that need a path into the core for the heroes and the Clan Castle troops. It ignores everything except the Town Hall, so make sure the route it picks is the one you want.

Battle Blimp

The Blimp ignores Walls and flies the shortest line to the Town Hall, dropping bombs as it goes. It is the standard delivery for core-dive loads like Super Archers or Super Wizards with Invisibility Spells. It has thin health, so it needs a clear lane through air defenses.

Stone Slammer

Think of a very large, very tough Balloon. It flies to defenses, hits them with big splash damage, and does extra damage to Walls around its target. Air armies use it as a tank that clears defenses while the Clan Castle troops wait inside. The February 2026 update added level 6.

Siege Barracks

Instead of moving, it lands where you drop it and keeps spawning P.E.K.K.As and Wizards while it slowly loses health. The spawned troops match your own Laboratory levels. It’s a good way to clear one side of a base and build a funnel. Level 6 arrived in April 2026.

Log Launcher

The Log Launcher drives toward the Town Hall and fires a log every few seconds. Each log rolls forward, crushing Walls and hitting up to four buildings. It loses health over time, so place it where its logs will open the compartments you need. Level 6 arrived in April 2026.

Flame Flinger

A slow catapult that lobs bundles of fire at defenses from 11 tiles away. Burning ground keeps damaging ground targets and buildings in it, Walls included. Most defenses can’t reach it at that distance, but Mortars, X-Bows and Monoliths can, so take those out or keep the Flinger away from them. It loses health slowly over time.

Battle Drill

The Drill burrows under Walls to the nearest defense, pops up, stuns defenses around it, then digs to the next one. Ground armies at Town Hall 15 and up use it to break into the core with heroes close behind. Level 6 arrived in April 2026.

Troop Launcher

Added in February 2025, it stays where you place it and lobs barrels of Barbarians, Archers, Giants and Wall Breakers toward your largest group of attacking troops, adding one Clan Castle troop per barrel. Its barrel troops depend on the Launcher’s level, not your Laboratory. It can’t start firing until you have at least a 2-housing troop on the field.

Sky Wagon

The newest machine is an air-army version of the same idea. It flies toward defenses and launches barrels that each hold Minions, a Balloon, a Baby Dragon and one Clan Castle troop. Supercell’s notes say it works best when it follows behind your air troops. The May 2026 balance pass cut its barrel count and lowered the level of the troops inside.

Picking a Siege Machine for your army

  • Core dive with an air army: Battle Blimp, or Stone Slammer if you want something that survives longer and hits defenses on the way.
  • Ground attack that needs a path through Walls: Wall Wrecker, Log Launcher, or Battle Drill at Town Hall 15+.
  • Clearing one side before the main push: Siege Barracks or Flame Flinger.
  • Extra bodies in a long attack: Troop Launcher for ground armies, Sky Wagon for air.

Since the Clash Anytime update in March 2025 you can keep several machines built and swap between them at no cost, so try a different one when an attack plan isn’t working. Clan mates can only send you what your Clan Castle accepts, so check the level caps below before asking.

Donation level caps by Clan Castle

A donated Siege Machine arrives at the donor’s level, capped by the receiver’s Clan Castle.
