Updated for Town Hall 18 (October 2026).
The Minion Prince is the flying, long-range hero that unlocks at Town Hall 9 when your Hero Hall reaches level 3. He arrived with the Town Hall 17 update in November 2024 as the fifth Home Village hero, and he can be upgraded to level 95 at Town Hall 18. He hits ground and air targets from 3.5 tiles, and most of his staying power now comes from his equipment.
How the Minion Prince works
Think of him as a giant Minion with a royal attitude. He flies at speed 24, attacks every 0.85 seconds, picks the nearest target of any kind and looks for targets within 10 tiles. Because he’s always in the air, Walls and ground traps never touch him, but Air Defenses, Seeking Air Mines and Air Sweepers do.
Once per battle you can fire his ability. It always heals him by a fixed amount that rises every five levels, and it triggers whatever his active equipment does. If he’s about to be knocked out with the ability unused, it fires automatically (you can turn that off in settings) and leaves him at 1 hitpoint at worst.
His own hitpoints are low for a hero. In November 2025 Supercell cut 1,000 hitpoints from every Minion Prince level and moved that health onto his equipment, so leveling his equipment matters as much as leveling him.
He can also defend from a Hero Banner. On defense he stays in the air, so only units that hit air (or ranged units such as Archers and Wizards) can damage him.
Minion Prince max level by Town Hall
Upgrades cost Dark Elixir and use a Builder. Stats are his base numbers at each cap, before equipment bonuses.
| Town Hall | Hero Hall level | Max level | Damage per second | Hitpoints | Ability heal |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 9 | 3 | 10 | 216 | 578 | 280 |
| 10 | 4 | 20 | 277 | 998 | 360 |
| 11 | 5 | 30 | 354 | 1,418 | 440 |
| 12 | 6 | 40 | 446 | 1,838 | 520 |
| 13 | 7 | 50 | 545 | 2,258 | 600 |
| 14 | 8 | 60 | 619 | 2,678 | 700 |
| 15 | 9 | 70 | 656 | 3,098 | 800 |
| 16 | 10 | 80 | 700 | 3,728 | 900 |
| 17 | 11 | 90 | 750 | 4,358 | 1,000 |
| 18 | 12 | 95 | 765 | 4,510 | 1,050 |
At level 1 he has 173 damage per second and 200 hitpoints. Upgrade costs run from 5,000 Dark Elixir and 2 hours for level 2 to 450,000 Dark Elixir and 8 days for level 95, before Gold Pass discounts.
Minion Prince equipment
He equips two pieces per attack from the Blacksmith. Common pieces go to level 18 and Epics to level 27; the numbers below are at max level.
| Equipment | Rarity | How you get it | What it does at max level |
|---|---|---|---|
| Henchmen Puppet | Common | Comes with him | Ability: two level 7 Henchmen and a short invisibility; +188 damage per second, +500 hitpoints, +538 ability heal |
| Dark Orb | Common | Comes with him | Ability: a crystal that drifts forward, damaging and slowing defenses and troops by 50%; +73 damage per second, +1,140 hitpoints |
| Metal Pants | Common | Blacksmith 3 (Town Hall 10) | Ability: cuts incoming damage by 70% for 15 seconds; +1,700 hitpoints, +2,500 ability heal |

| Dark Crown | Epic | Dark Deal event (June 2025), then the Trader | Passive: gains health and damage in three steps as 60, 120 and 180 housing space of your troops fall, up to +30% health and +30% damage in total; +1,200 hitpoints, +11% attack speed |
| Meteor Staff | Epic | Cosmic Rock event (October 2025), then the Trader | Passive: a meteor hits the nearest defense every 5 seconds for 850 splash damage, at any range; +125 damage per second, +1,381 hitpoints |
| Portal Pendant | Epic | Portal Panic Medal Event, October 8-25, 2026 (Rift Medals) | Not published as of October 1, 2026 |
The usual pairing is Dark Orb with the Dark Crown: the Orb slows the defenses he’s flying into while the Crown turns the losses your army takes into extra power for him. Without the Crown, Dark Orb with the Henchmen Puppet or Metal Pants is the Common setup. Metal Pants is the pick when Seeking Air Mines are the main threat, since one well-timed press cuts their damage hard. In dragon armies the Meteor Staff adds steady damage on defenses you can’t reach yet.
How to use the Minion Prince
- Fly him behind tougher air units. Dragons, Dragon Riders, Lava Hounds and Baby Dragons have shorter range and more health, so they absorb fire while he shoots over them.
- Keep him off to the side with Electro Dragons. If he clears buildings in their path, their chain lightning has fewer targets to bounce between, so use him to build the funnel instead.
- Time Metal Pants or the Henchmen Puppet’s invisibility for the moment he flies into a cluster of air defenses or over likely air mine spots.
For pets, the Phoenix is a common choice: it brings him back once with a few seconds of invincibility, which is often enough to finish the Town Hall or a last defense. The Unicorn also works because it can heal flying heroes. See the pets page for every option.
Defending with and against him
On defense, set his banner near the middle of your base. His health draws air troops toward him, and because he flies, attackers can’t clean him up with a ground hero like the Barbarian King.
To beat a defending Prince, bring something that hits air: Wizards, the Archer Queen or your own air troops. Against an attacking Prince, spread your Seeking Air Mines so one Balloon can’t trigger them all, and place Air Defenses where they cover the paths air armies take into the core.
