Gold Pass

By October 1st, 2026No Comments

Updated for Town Hall 18 (October 2026).

The Gold Pass is the paid track of Clash of Clans’ Season Challenges. It costs $6.99 at its US base price (the price varies by country), lasts for one season, which is one calendar month, and adds a hero skin, builder and research boosts, extra resources and other perks on top of the free Silver track. Supercell rebuilt it from the ground up on March 1, 2026, and since the August 30, 2026 update it can be bought from Town Hall 3.

How the Gold Pass works in 2026

Every player from Town Hall 3 up has the Season Challenges menu, reached through the shield icon next to the Attack button. It holds two reward tracks:

  • the Silver track, free for everyone
  • the Gold track, unlocked when you buy the Gold Pass, which also lets you claim everything on the Silver track

A season starts on the first day of the month and ends on the last. You can buy the Gold Pass from day one until there are fewer than 24 hours left, and it doesn’t carry over: next month starts from zero. Rewards and the Hoggy Bank scale with your Town Hall and Builder Hall levels as they were when the season started. Upgrading your Town Hall mid-season doesn’t change that month’s rewards, so if you are close to an upgrade, finish it before the 1st.

Earning Season Points: Daily Tasks and stamp cards

The March 2026 rework replaced the old challenge list with eight always-available tasks built around normal play. They never expire. Each time you finish one you earn a stamp worth 20 Season Points at base, and you can earn the same stamp again by repeating the task. The eight tasks are:

  • start a building upgrade (Walls don’t count)
  • start a troop upgrade
  • start a hero or pet upgrade
  • donate reinforcements
  • complete a Star Bonus
  • win a battle
  • destroy a Town Hall
  • request reinforcements

Most of them work in the Home Village or the Builder Base. Stamps fill stamp cards. You start the season with a few cards and get a new one every day, and they stack, so a missed day can be made up later. A finished card pays bonus points: 50 with the Gold Pass against 25 without. In the last week of the season every stamp and every card is worth more.

Two changes from May 26, 2026 make late purchases fairer. From the June 2026 pass on, buying mid-season retroactively grants the Gold bonus for cards you had already finished. And if you bought the previous month’s pass, buying again gives you one extra stamp on the day you buy.

Gold Pass rewards and perks

The exact track changes each season. The April 2026 Gold track, for example, ran to 2,500 points. These are the perks a Gold Pass holder can unlock:

Perk What it does
Hero skin The season’s skin, which was the very first Gold reward on the April 2026 track; a Choice Node can offer a returning classic instead
Gem Reinforcements Quick donations cost 1 Gem, and you can fill your own Clan Castle for 1 Gem per unit
Builder Boost Cuts build and upgrade times and costs by up to 20%, hero upgrades included
Research Boost Cuts Laboratory and Pet House times and costs by up to 20%
Request Time Reduction Shortens the Clan Castle request cooldown; the April 2026 track went up to 90%
Auto Forge slot An extra Forge slot that crafts Capital Gold at half cost without a free Builder
Prospector (TH10+) A helper that converts Ore once every 23 hours: up to 2,000 Shiny, 120 Glowy or 2 Starry. Below TH10 you get a Resource Potion instead
Hoggy Bank multiplier Your Hoggy Bank pays out five times its balance at the end of the season

The boosts don’t cut the number of Wall Rings a Wall needs, and they don’t touch upgrade costs in the Clan Capital. If you start an upgrade before claiming a boost, the remaining time drops to the boosted time when that is shorter. When the season ends and the boost goes away, running upgrades keep their reduced time.

Choice Nodes

At set points on the track you pick one of two rewards. Supercell’s examples were the season’s hero skin or a returning classic, a Rune of Gold or a Rune of Elixir, and a Book of Fighting or a Book of Spells. Higher Town Halls get more useful choices. If you don’t pick before the season ends, the first option is given to you, or Gems if your storage for that item is full.

Chests on the Silver track

Since March 2026 the free track has chests in place of most of the potions it used to guarantee. Each chest holds a random reward, such as Ore, cosmetics or Magic Items.

The Hoggy Bank

The Hoggy Bank replaced the Season Bank in March 2026. Any loot you win in multiplayer battles or Builder Battles is matched by the same amount in the bank, and the bank empties into your storages when the season ends (it can overfill them). It now starts at full size, with no size upgrades during the season. Its size depends on your Town Hall:

Town Hall Gold and Elixir (each) Dark Elixir
3 400,000 none
4-5 800,000 none
6 2,000,000 none
7-8 2,000,000 20,000
9-10 4,000,000 40,000
11-16 6,000,000 60,000
17-18 8,000,000 80,000

The Builder Base side runs from 400,000 Builder Gold and Builder Elixir at Builder Hall 1 to 2,000,000 at Builder Hall 7 to 10. With the Gold Pass, the 5x payout means a Town Hall 17 or 18 player can collect up to 40 million Gold and Elixir, 400,000 Dark Elixir and 10 million of each Builder Base resource.

Gold Pass from Town Hall 3

The August 30, 2026 update retired the Starter Pass. Season Challenges now start at Town Hall 3, the Gold Pass can be bought from Town Hall 3, and both tracks scale their rewards to your Town Hall. Supercell said these changes would roll out as a test from September, so not every new player at low Town Halls sees them right away. Anyone partway through a Starter Pass can still finish it.

The October 2026 Gold Pass

The October 1-31 Gold Pass belongs to the Cosmic Curse season. Its hero skin is the Shroud Queen, with the Ghost Champion as the alternate skin choice. Clan Games run from October 22 to 28 in the same season; see the Clan Games page for how they work.

Tips for getting the most from the Gold Pass

  • Buy it early. The boosts and Gem Reinforcements only help for the part of the month you hold them, and buying late no longer costs you stamp card points.
  • Line up long upgrades for the days after you unlock the 20% Builder and Research Boosts. The boost also shortens upgrades already running, as long as the boosted time is shorter than what is left.
  • Finish a Town Hall upgrade before the 1st of the month so the whole season’s rewards scale to the higher level.
  • Farm in regular Battles during the month. Every bit of loot is matched in the Hoggy Bank, and the Gold Pass multiplies it by five.
  • Claim your Choice Nodes yourself. The default is simply the first option, which may not be the one you need.
  • At Town Hall 10 or higher, use the Prospector every day to turn spare Shiny Ore into the Glowy or Starry Ore your Hero Equipment needs.
