Updated for Town Hall 18 (October 2026).
The Meteor Golem is a 40-housing Elixir troop made of two Meteormites stacked on each other: the bottom one throws the top one at a target, they split, then they find each other (or another Meteormite) and do it again. It unlocks at Town Hall 17 with the level 19 Barracks. It started as a temporary event troop in October 2025 and became a permanent troop with the Town Hall 18 update on November 17, 2025. Max level is 3 at Town Hall 18.
How the Meteor Golem works
The combined Meteor Golem walks slowly and can’t cross Walls. When it reaches throwing range (5 tiles), it hurls one Meteormite at the nearest target. The throw does splash damage, can hit ground or air targets, and deals five times normal damage to Walls. After the throw you have two separate Meteormites on the field.
Each Meteormite gets half of the Golem’s current health, so a damaged Golem splits into two damaged halves. A Meteormite then either attacks something nearby with its fists or walks to another Meteormite to merge back into a Meteor Golem, which can be the one it came from or a different one. Merging gives a short window of damage immunity. Unlike the full Golem, Meteormites climb over Walls, which is how this troop gets into compartments without a Jump Spell.
Two limits: Meteor Golems copied by a Clone Spell can’t re-form once they split, and neither can Meteor Golems defending from a Clan Castle.
Meteor Golem stats by level
Housing space 40, movement speed 12, one throw per second, range 5 tiles, splash damage (ground and air), 5x damage to Walls. Research uses Elixir in the Laboratory.
| Level | Throw damage | Hitpoints | Research cost (Elixir) | Research time | Lab level | Town Hall |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 480 | 14,500 | None | None | None | 17 |

Meteormite stats
Meteormites match the Golem’s level. Each counts as 20 housing space, moves at speed 16, punches one ground target every 1.5 seconds at 0.8-tile range, and can climb Walls.

|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 190 | 285 | 7,250 |

Permanent troop vs. the Cosmic Rock event version
The Meteor Golem first showed up as a temporary troop in the Cosmic Rock Medal Event (October 10 to November 1, 2025), open to Town Hall 6 and up, with levels that scaled with your Town Hall. That version was removed from Army Camps when the event ended. The permanent troop came back a couple of weeks later with Town Hall 18, but with its own three research levels and a Town Hall 17 unlock. If you see a Meteor Golem in a lower Town Hall army during a later event, that is a temporary copy. Temporary troops can’t be used in Ranked battles, Clan Wars or Clan War Leagues.
How to attack with Meteor Golems
Warden charge with Meteor Golems
The best-known use is a Grand Warden charge at Town Halls 17 and 18. Make the funnel first, then send the Golems in with the Warden following them, usually carrying Fireball and Rage Gem. The Town Hall 18 update smoothed out how the Warden follows Meteor Golems. Bring something that hits air, such as the Archer Queen, because a split Meteormite only punches ground targets. They are slow, so add cleanup troops like Archers, Minions or Wizards to avoid running out of time.
Handle the big single-target hitters
Single-mode Inferno Towers, the Monolith and the Revenge Tower melt Meteor Golems. Freeze or Overgrowth them, or soak their fire with an Ice Block Spell or Totem Spell. Be careful overgrowing a Revenge Tower that hasn’t reached full power: it can come out of the Overgrowth in its strongest state. A Totem also kills Skeletons that would otherwise distract your Golems.
Spells and support
A Rage Spell boosts throw damage. Healers restore both halves when they heal a combined Golem. If the defender has Ice Golems in the Clan Castle, pull them out with a Totem or Skeleton Spell, since their freeze can stall the whole push.
How to defend against Meteor Golems
- Keep your highest-damage defenses in the core. Meteormites climb Walls, so outer Wall layers slow them less than you’d expect, and ring bases with a strong center make them work hardest.
- Defending heroes, especially the Barbarian King, soak a lot of hits and can stop Meteormites from regrouping by keeping them busy.
- Ice Golems in the Clan Castle freeze them, and Skeleton Traps distract their slow attacks.
- A Spell Tower helps in any mode: Rage speeds up your defenses, Poison slows the push, and Invisibility can hide key defenses so the Golems retarget weaker buildings.
