Updated for Town Hall 18 (October 2026).
The Electrofire Wizard is the last troop you unlock in the Builder Base. He comes with the level 12 Builder Barracks at Builder Hall 10 and switches between two attacks: an Inferno beam that ramps up on one target, and an Electro bolt that chains to several. He hits hard but has little health, and his max is level 20.
How the Electrofire Wizard works
He arrived on May 15, 2023 with Builder Base 2.0, as the Builder Base take on the Home Village Wizard. He has no favorite target, so he walks to the nearest building, and both of his attacks reach 3.5 tiles and hit ground and air. Each Army Camp slot holds just one of him.
Every Electrofire Wizard lands in Inferno Mode. Tap his portrait on the troop bar to flip to Electro Mode and tap again to flip back. The switch has a 1.5-second cooldown, and you can change modes as often as you like during the attack.
Inferno Mode
A single beam, like the Inferno Dragon‘s, that ticks very quickly and grows stronger the longer it stays on one target. At max level it starts at 252 damage per second, climbs to 380 after 1.5 seconds and reaches 505 after 3 seconds. That makes it the mode for high-hitpoint targets: big defenses, the Builder Hall, the Stage 2 outpost.
Electro Mode
A slow-charging lightning bolt, closer to an Electro Dragon, fired every 3.5 seconds. It strikes its target and chains to up to four targets in total, losing 20% of its damage with each jump. At level 20 the first hit does 819 damage. Use it when buildings are packed together, or to reach a defense that sits a short hop behind an outer building.
Unlock and levels
The level 12 Builder Barracks needs Builder Hall 10 and costs 3,000,000 Builder Elixir with a 5 day upgrade. Like every troop since Builder Base 2.0, he arrives at a starting level, in his case 17. Levels 18 to 20 are researched in the level 10 Star Laboratory with Builder Elixir. Training is free and instant.
| Level | Hitpoints | Inferno DPS (start / 1.5 s / 3 s) | Electro damage per hit | Electro DPS | Research cost (Builder Elixir) | Research time |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 17 | 1,100 | 220 / 330 / 440 | 700 | 200 | None | None |
| 18 | 1,100 | 220 / 330 / 440 | 763 | 218 | 4,400,000 | 6d |
| 19 | 1,210 | 252 / 380 / 505 | 763 | 218 | 5,400,000 | 6d 12h |
| 20 | 1,210 | 252 / 380 / 505 | 819 | 234 | 5,800,000 | 6d 12h |
Electro damage is for the first target in the chain. Movement speed is 22 at every level. Levels alternate: even levels raise Electro Mode, level 19 raises hitpoints and Inferno Mode. Costs and times are before any Gold Pass discount.
How to attack with the Electrofire Wizard
Supercell described him as a glass cannon, and that’s the right way to play him. With 1,210 hitpoints at max he needs a tank in front at all times.
- Put him behind a Boxer Giant or a Power P.E.K.K.A, and leave a little space so splash aimed at the tank doesn’t catch him too.
- Stay in Inferno Mode while he is chewing through a big defense or a hall. The beam gets stronger the longer it holds one target, so let it build instead of flipping modes mid-target.
- Switch to Electro Mode when he reaches a tight cluster of small buildings, or to snipe an X-Bow linked to the edge of the base by a short gap.
- Use Inferno Mode early to break the outer defenses and set a funnel for the rest of the army.
- Keep him away from the Lava Launcher and Giant Cannon, which can delete him quickly if he walks into their line.
In two-stage battles he can go in your Stage 1 army or come in through a Reinforcement Camp for Stage 2. The Builder Base 2.0 guide covers how stages, stars and reinforcements work.
Defending against the Electrofire Wizard
He has low hitpoints, so fast single-target damage handles him. The Double Cannon, Giant Cannon and Mega Tesla all kill him quickly. The Archer Tower is too slow to matter, and the Crusher only hits troops right next to it, and he attacks from 3.5 tiles away.
His spring weight is 14, which means a Spring Trap can’t throw him out. A Push Trap still moves him. To blunt Electro Mode, leave space between your important defenses and the buildings on the outer edge, so a bolt can’t jump from an easy outside target into one of them.
Electrofire Wizard history
He was added on May 15, 2023 as part of Builder Base 2.0, together with Builder Hall 10, the X-Bow and the Battle Copter, and the same update raised the troop level cap to 20. Unlike the older Builder Base troops, he never existed in the pre-2.0 Versus Battle era, so there is no old version of him to compare.
